Double check with your vet, but my response is NO NO NO NO NO NO. 99% of the time "people" food is NEVER good for a pet. Our food is formulated with too much sodium, preservatives (etc) to be healthy for their little kidneys, liver, or spleen.

Of course, most processed foods aren't that healthy for us either, but our systems can generally tolerate more.

At best, the cheese might cause your gerbil to be constipated. (Which can also be serious if it doesn't resolve and is left untreated.) At worst, it could cause your gerbil to have painful reactions or disease in it's organs...thus shortening the gerbil's life and ensuring an agonizing, prolonged end.

Save the cheese for you and feed the gerbil food that is specially forumlated for him.

No, you shouldn't feed your gerbils cheese. Dairy products can be hard to digest and if some gets left in the cage it will rot.

Treats gerbils love are sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and fresh banana.
