I think that they actually could go 0-16 next year. Sorry to tell you, but your team is in a tough division with three playoff contenders, they'll play three formidable AFC south opponents next year(except Houston), they do get the NFC North next year but again they are improving in general. Even the Dolphins and the Browns don't really seem like winnable games for the Raiders next year either.
I believe that the new coach really took this job to get his name out there to eventually become a head football coach in college at some point. If this team can somehow win two games, it will be a successful season. A new quarterback being drafted definitely will not change the immediate fortunes of the Raiders. I believe that there is way too much hoopla concerning hot prospects in the upcoming draft and potential regarding an NFL prospect is purely spectulative. They're many great college football players but when it comes to the pros many of them really suck and they will fizzle out within three years. The Raiders probably should try to rebuild through the draft unfortunately, but I think that Al Davis should sell the team and not further embarass himself anymore. Maybe someone like Mark Cuban can buy the Raiders and make it respectable again. You better hope so.

Depends. They had such a terrible season last year. Seemed they recognized early on that there was nothing they could do and just played to get it done and over.
Al Davis needs to loosen his death grip on the team. Although Lane Kiffen might be able to do a lot, the team is still reforming and figuring themselves out. I think there were HUGE red flags when that other coach decided that the Raiders weren't for him and that Jeff Garcia went with the Bucs. (Garcia's mom even tried to convince him to sign with the Raiders according to news reports.)
We'll see. It'll be an interesting year for football in the Bay Area.

Being a long time Raider fan(40+yrs.) I am going to wait until after the draft. We don't have a new QB yet, we're not real famous for drafting good QB,s(Stabler excepted)so I am not sure what Al's going to do. He may not draft Russell just because everybody says he will.

Honestly, I don't think they can get any worse. Seriously.
I think they get Russell and they'll win more then two games. They definitely need guys to step it up and Russell is strong enough to take some hits and still throw the ball.
With Kiffin being a younger guy the guys are either going to receive him one way or another......a) A kid younger then most of the guys on the team, who doesn't have a clue how to coach in the NFL, b) A young guy with serious potential that players can respect. Hopefully they decide he's a decent a guy and don't give him too much crap.

depends who the new QB is. is it russell or quinn or someone from FA? i dont know about kiffin. he is so young and inexperienced, i dont know if he will command respect from the raiders especially moss and porter. raiders have a great D, all they got to do is shore up the oline and keep moss interested in the game. porter is a great WR when he aint on the bench. if the raiders get russell it could be oaklands version of culpepper to moss.

not any better than last year...they have not at all upgraded any other part of their offense, and starting a rookie at QB and a head coach in his first time at the position at any level is a recipe for another 2 win season...their defense has to be a lot better(even though they were already good last season) for them to even think about more than 4 wins

No where to go but up. It doesn't matter who is the QB if the O-line doesn't improve. I I thought Walters was a decent QB last year, but it's hard to complete a pass from the seat of your pants.

they will be a little better because you really can't be any worse but it takes time to improve and no one knows how this new coach will be but the quarterback will be destroyed if the o-line doesn't improve.
