is it against the law for a doctor to ffax you a doctor's note... just need proof that i was there and it's really far from my house...the receptionsit said she cant do it but just curious if it's their policy or against the law?!?!?!

Most of them do it normally... sounds like your doctor's office is being picky. Tell them you can verify that it is you by stating your ssn, etc...

Doctor's notes are medical records and I understand that aspect but most of them will do it.

Request to speak to the doctor personally.

And usually a school or workplace is smart enough not to accept a "reproduction" for reasons stated, which is what a facsimile would be.

Original records of your medical examination must be furnished to you but you have to personally get it from the clinic.

I would assume they don't want to fax it because it could be easily duplicated and used illegally....Just make the drive and get it.
