I have friends who linve in Chula Vista. I live in La Jolla, which is a sea side town. Generally, I get to his place in twenty five minutes, to give you some perspective for distance from the ocean.

Generally, it's about 10 degrees hoter inland during the summers and 10 degrees colder during the winter. In the summer, it can get into the high 80's and occasionally low 90's.

Other than that, the weather is phenomenal. San Diego is God's country.

San Diego is similar to a mediterreanean climate (not tropical), dry with little rain and most of the time in the 60's 70's near the coast(thats the place to live if you really want to enjoy San Diego). They have four general climate zones. Coastal, Inland, Mountain and desert. Nice beaches too. Very active place for college. Here is some local info on http://citydigest.net/united-states/san-diego/

wonderful weather! for the most part it's usually around 60 in the winter (of course sometimes it's colder) and 80s in the summer. A little hoter inland (which Chula Vista is compared to downtown SD).

San Diego is tropical. They do not have a winter. It can be warm in the summer, but the Pacific breeze makes it fair. The people there might complain about the heat, but it is really just warm. There is not much rain on the coast.
