Menopause is a change in your hormones which can relate to weight increase but it doesn't have to. Not all women in menopause have a weight problem. (Jane Fonda)
As we age our metabolism does slow down, so it's easier to gain weight because people tend to be less active.

Your hormones and metabolism are changing when you are going through menopause. Some women do find that they gain weight when menopause hits. A lot of time though, once the hormones start to level out, the weight starts to return to normal - with a healthy diet and exercise, of course.

Once in a while, but certainly not in everybody. Keep up exercising and eating healthily, and you shouldn't gain much--if any. Keep in mind that the older one gets, the harder it is to take weight off after it is on, though.
