I have a background in education which includes teaching and administration. I lost my job almost 4 years ago and have not been able to get back into an education position since then. All I seem to be qualified for is sales.
I have managed to get a part time job teaching at the college level, but all full time jobs seem to be closed doors.
I am open to suggestions!

Yuck sales.... I have dealt with sales managers that make the joke that if a person can fog a mirror they are qualified for the role. It's frustrating as sales people really just have to want it...

I think former teachers are great for Human Resources. You know how to deal with conflict, learning styles and multiple forms of communication. You maybe should look into getting your PHR... and see if that is for you. Starting salary will be pretty close to what you made as a teacher. And this is a part of the industry that a little gray hair will pay you dividends, as a lot of it is just plain common sense and wisdom.
