I tried wearing only concealer on my face and it ended up making my yellowish-olive cheeks look brown. Is this true?

It should depend on the concealer quality and color. I use MAC's concealer and I often wear it on its own, i think it looks great. Try other types

You most likely used the wrong color. Get a concealer that is a shade lighter than your natural skin tone, blend it as much as you can without rubbing it off, put a little bit of blush over your face to conceal it even more and ta-da! Perfect looking skin.

You're using the wrong colour.
Concealer won't give you a flawless finish. It's designed to be used with foundation to help cover spots and uneven skin tone. When you use it alone, it can be pretty obvious and show up, rather than hide the spots.

i think if you pick the right color and you wear it properly it should work. if you can't find the right color for you you should go to those booths in the mall that do your makeup and get them to match your skin tone. and make sure you either take a shower or wash your face to get all the makeup off so you dont clog your pores.
