I think not but the confederacy would surely have extremely little power, perhaps on the UN model.

To my knowledge, it's never happened. One thing about Anarchists is that each location is sovereign so cooperation with other anarchists is limited. The closest to them being in power was in the Spanish Republic of the 1930s where they had a majority in the Republican government. However, with their self-serving style, the Anarchists could not counter the always well organized Communist party. With massive help from the Soviet Union, they were able to stage a bloodless coup that ended the republic in all but name and prompting the reaction by Franco and his nationalists.

If anarchist attained power it would be a revolution outside of the current political system therefore they would not have "their own government" and in theory they feel they do not need one.

I think it is foolish philosophy by the way.

An anarchist group would not take power; they would dissolve the current government and they would not have a government. Anarchy is given a bad name these days. In the olden times Native American communities thrived with anarchy, now the word is taken in an entirely different sense.

If they were true anarchists they wouldn't create a new Govt. If would be a free for all. There'd probably be a bunch of warlords instead of a Govt.
