I cannot speak for anyone but myself, and I began to see the connections between the oppression of black people and the oppression of women. I lived in Montgomery, Alabama, where Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus.I was also favorably impressed by Coretta Scott King and Lurleen Wallace, who were influential in Alabama politics at the time of the Civil Rights movement.
Good luck.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits
discriminatory treatment of workers by their employers. Any business with 15 or more workers is an “employer” that must comply with anti-discrimination laws. An “employer” is the
federal government, state and local governments, governmental agencies, political subdivisions, unions and education institutions accepting public monies.

Both women and men are protected from discrimination based on gender under federal law. A discriminatory act based on an individual’s sex does not have to be sexual in nature. For example, comments by an employer that a “woman cannot do this job” is gender-based but not sexual harassment.
The U.S. Constitution does not guarantee equality to women. Since 1970, an Equal Rights Amendment has been proposed. Its ratification fell short by three states in a 1972 vote. The ERA states: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” The ERA was proposed again in 2003 and must pass Congress before another ratification vote may occur.

If gender-based discrimination occurs, it commonly arises in the employment context. Gender-based stereotypes that affect the terms and conditions of employment are impermissible
and violate the civil rights of the individual who suffered the discrimination. Employers with a pattern of making hiring decisions based on the sex of the employee are engaging in
discriminatory conduct. Some examples include refusal to hire males in child care positions, only hiring women secretaries and receptionists, not promoting women to managerial positions
and unequal pay between men and women for performing the same job.Pregnancy issues are also addressed in the civil rights as with abortion and or procreate. I'm not sure on the womens names of this era except that Oprah had something to do with cattle i think I'd have to look that up been a long time.

equal rights, no discrimination , the right to vote, no sexual harassment are just a few covered in one of the greatest era for bitching about rights as in a whole not just men woman or anything like that were all guilty of something.
