Check out the KneeGuru website, to give you some ideas as to what you are dealing with. To really see what is going on with your knee, go to your doctor, and you should probably have an MRI, of your knee, so that the doctor can see inside your knee, and tell you what is wrong. You could have a torn meniscus, like I do, and I had the MRI, saw the pics.of my knee, and am now waiting for arthroscopic surgery, to cut the broken piece of cartilage off. The knee is very delicate, as you have ligaments, nerves, muscle, and cartilage to deal with. good luck..........

IF you haven't visited an Orthopaedist yet you should.they may take some X-Rays to see what the problem is.if anything is bad after the results, they will ask you to purchase or they will give you a little strap that goes around the painful spot and they also again will give you some medication that will make the bump go
away and they will also give you some actual
MILD PAIN RELIEVER or something.

not somethint to solve on this site. see a specialist unless you have to see your primary care doc first. need a sports doctor. that aint natural. something is wrong and the sooner you get them on it the better. but you already know that don't you?

If you are excercising you may need a knee brace. If you are not, you need to go to the doctor.
