I work in the meat department at Walmart. I have worked there for almost 2 months and I absolutely hate it. I avoid going to work whenever I can by scheduling my son's doctor's appointments during work hours or my own. I have called off twice. I have gotten two write ups because someone lied about me stealing something and I was written up for 5 minutes of overtime. My husband has a job and keeps insurance for our family. He makes good money but half of it is gone in child support. I have a 6 month old baby at home. I cry constantly at work because I miss him. I'm afraid that if I quit my job people will be dissapointed in me because we might have to go back on welfare to continue medical coverage of our son if I quit. I want to go back to a previous job and while the employer has offered me my job back, I'm afraid I will make the second assistant manager, my brother, mad by going back. What should I do?

You must do what's best for you. If your brother cares about you he will be happy for you. If he's not, then don't let his feelings bother you. You will be a better mother for your son if you can be happy in your life. You will have more energy and more patience with him. Talk to your husband about this. Tell him everything you have written here. You should make this decision together.

Go back to the previous job if you're given the option and you enjoyed it. It's not fair to tax payers for us to have to support your son just because you miss him while at work and you want to come home to be with him all the time instead of working when you're very capable of working at least part time.

Hi there...If you're worried about disappointing people, I think they'd be more disappointed if you got fired from your job, rather than if you quit. Just try to tough it out, while looking for another job, and don't quit until you have another job, if that's possible. Don't worry about who you'll be making mad by getting this other job you want, you need to do what's right for you.
