From an alternative medicine point of view I would have to ask many questions. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you on medication? Are you falling asleep in just one class or all classes? Are you eating balanced meals? Are you hypoglycemic? Do you consume sugar or other sweet additives in food like corn syrup? All these things will make you drowsy. The coffee cycle will actually make you drowsy too. The caffeine is addictive and will cause you to get sleepy after the effect drops off.

If you are looking for a quick fix and not a healthy solution, then there are a couple of things that could help. Oil of Peppermint on the back of the neck makes your body feel cooler, so it is a bit more difficult to get drowzy. Good for hot days, too! Coffee is too short lived, and you'll be sleepy and have to pee...more problems! If you eat something (seriously) you'll feel more awake. Especially an energy bar. Rubber band on the wrist is an old trick that works well. Good luck!

Me too! I got tired of falling asleep many times and not being able to concentrate. You can use NoDoz, but try to take only a 1/2 tablet when you need it. It is not good for you, neither is Red Bull for that matter. But it does work, also, you can drink Water Joe, it is caffeinated water.

Try getting to sleep earlier at night by drinking Chamomile Tea, and firing up lavender candles or incense. Warm milk and a warm bath may also help--as should meditation.
For energy to stay awake in class, you can eat a candy bar, a Balance bar, or drink any of the energy drinks (there are so many to choose from).

One simple solution that has helped me in class is to put a rubber band around your wrist. Every time you feel drowsy, snap it hard enough to wake you up.

Try taking Maca Power its a 100% natural product (its a root vegetable) from Peru. It gives you heaps of energy and stamina. Depending on how run down you are depends on how quickly it will work. I mix mine with organic orange juice. Start with a heaped teaspoon of maca then work your way down to your dosage, you will know when you have reached your dosage. Buy from health food store.
