I really want to work will animals, but not at an animal shelter, or humane socity, because I hate to see stray dogs, and injured dogs.
(I also don't want to be a vet.)

Wow! there are so many. Theres grooming, training, working at or owning a boarding kennel, farm work, you could become a professional handler and so on and so on. If your thinking about university there is widlife biology, zoology and so on. Get excited and go for it. I cant think of any work more rewarding, good luck!

You could:
- be a dog walker, as has been mentioned before,
- be a Vet Technician might not be be for you if you don't like the sick an injured animals..
- work at a Kennel, where they board animals while owners are sick or on vacation
- be a dog/house sitter
- work at a doggie day care
- become a groomer
- be a volunteer. Keep in mind that you really can make a difference in a shelter - they need every ounce of love you can give them - you can find no-kill shelters, as well, if the alternative bothers you too much.
- you could become a dog trainer (behavior)
- you could become a trainer of working dogs; dogs that work for people with various disabilities.
I see that you included a wide variety of animals as well - maybe a pet shop, petting zoo, zoo, ranch - be creative and become good at what you love, and the opportunities often present themselves along the way.
Good luck, and enjoy!

I'm right there with you sweetie.
Heartbreaking, backbreaking, disgusting work!!!
Consider:
Training. People pay big bucks to train all sorts of animals.
Grooming, Not so great. A little like a vet for nastiness and pissed off animals.
You could be a business manager or accountant for a Vet. It's a great living, you don't have to do anything gross, but you can still do the fun stuff.
Open a store. The dog bakery craze is still popular. You could sell gormet treats, food, and designer clothes and stuff.
Open a doggie day care. A rising trend as more people get dogs rather than have babies.

DO NOT work at a pet shop - you dont work with animals at pet stores, you work with sales, and customers, pet stores exploit animals for profit so are a million times crueler than anything at the humane society.

At most shelters you dont see too many injured dogs as they would go to the vets. I used to work for an SPCA for 5 years, it was wonderful work becuase you were really helping the animals - yes it was sad sometimes, BUT it would have been sadder if I had not been there to help them

if you want to work with animals - a zoo, a stablehand, a farm, petting zoo...

Don't worry, i don't like to see dogs like that either. You could walk dogs, or start your own buisness at home, there you could pick your own price for babysitting animals. But you have to pick a price from 0-20$ and hour, or something, or you could do it for free. Trust me, if you go to www.google.com, i bet if you type in "Animal Jobs", you'll get a bunch of jobs. Email me, if you have any questions.

What about working at a Boarding Kennel? It's a lot of fun, you get to walk dogs, feed them, give them water, play with them, cats too! etc. The downside to it is cleaning cages and stuff like that, but I loved being around the animals.

You could get a job at a pet shop. People bring their animals in all the time and they usually have some animals in the store.

How about taking pictures of people and their pets-
You would need some photography skills but it would be fun to do that- or you could hook up with a photographer and get a joint business going- I was going to do this but it never ended up working out-
