I know!!! No 2nd Round Running Back can replace Thomas Jones. Da Bears were famous in the playoffs this year for their 1, 2 Running Back punch (Thomas Jones being 1, Benson being 2). Benson has not proved himself worthy of being a full-time starter.

t's better to have two very good running backs than rely on one back. Prime examples include New Orleans (Bush and Deuce), the Colts (Addai and Rhodes), San Diego (L.T. and Turner), and Da Bears of the 60s (Gale Sayers and Brian Piccalo).

Da Bears better trade up in the draft to get a good RB. Adrian Peterson (of the Bears, not of the Sooners) has been a good quality backup or "fill-in," but it is not certain if he can produce at a starting or a #2 spot at Da Bears' 1, 2 punch. He did have a 100 yard, 1 TD game in 2005, and filled well during the 2005 San Fransico game where both Benson and Jones were injured (and Nathan Vasher returned a FG 108 yards).

B.J. Pope MUST be signed from Chicago's practice squad and onto the roster. He was the leading rusher in the Bears' Pre-Season last year and showed good skills.

MUSTS FOR CHICAGO:
-Add B.J. Pope to the roster
-Develop Adrian Peterson into that #2 RB the Bears used last year in Benson
-Draft a running back or do something productive with that extra 2nd Round (37th overall) Pick.

And I also agree with the Bears having a horrible front office. They are cheap. Ticket prices have been an a $5 increase for many years in a row. Parking is near $20 and the "cheap seats" are now $65! I saw seats for a Bears game at Minnesota for $15!!!! And what took so long to give the lowest-paid coach in the league, 2005 Coach of the Year, and 2006 NFC Champion Coach the raise he deserved? And why is a foam Bear head $43!!!!??? Why do you think we never draft high? Cause when we do, we underpay (look at the Benson holdout)

All business. They are paying Benson too much to be on the bench and they figured they may as well get something for Jones, before he goes Free Agent. Keeping both would eventually create salary cap issues. Sad to say, TJ is on the wrong side of 25

The running back of the future is Cedric Benson. They didnt spend a first round pick on him for him to sit on the bench. That is why they trated Thomas Jones, to make Cedric Benson the number one back.

The Bears think Benson is their future...dumb I know..but hey I doubt Jones wanted to stick around anyway and when a player doesn't like the team they're playing on it's best to cut the loss and get what you can for them. Example..Jerry Porter and Randy Moss on the Raiders.

Thomas Jones said he wanted out of Chicago at the end of this season, he said he wanted to be traded out of Chicago and he got his wish...

They just picked up Travis Henry FA from the Titans. With one year left Jones's contract why not get a 2nd round pick and sign another back of equal skill to back up Benson

Obviously they have a player *targeted* with the 37th overall pick in the upcoming draft they received, plus they want Benson to get the majority of the carries since they have all the money invested in him.

stupid move if your going to trade a rb it should be benson i mean jones has proven hes a good running back while benson hasn't done that much. next year the bears are going to seriously regret this.

because the bears must have the worst front office. did you hear LB lance briggs saying he doesn't want to play for chicago. he said he loves the fans, city, team but hates the front office. good deal for the jets acquiring jones though.

I totally agree with you they shouldn't have traded him. They traded him because he wanted out and they got some good draft picks. i think they should've traded someone else with the jets (otherwise named Rex Grossman) and kept T.J. For next year. then they could've put a franchise tag on him next year

P.S. and whats up with lance briggs!?!?!
