Is this strickly a term used by my family or has anyone else ever heard of it? If so, what does it mean?

Well, I am glad I read this question! I have used that phrase for a long long time, and the other day my daughter said, "Do you realize you are the only person who says that??? What did you do, make it up?"

Ever since then, I have been wondering where in the world I did hear it or if I actually made it up in my own warped little mind!

I use it to mean a wide expanse of something - such as there are trees growing from hell to breakfast, or I have looked from hell to breakfast to try to find that book, etc.

Thanks!

Scattered from here to breakfast, is a term used world wide.
There a probably many variations, like yours.
It means scattered far and wide, spread out.

The same as 'spread across hell and half of Georgia'. Or how about the old standard, 'goin to hell in a hand basket'. Then there's always 'knocked A**end over teakettle'. Aren't American euphemisms great? lol

It's been fairly widespread...in fact, for a while there it was spread fom hell to breakfast :)

It means spread over an incalculably, seemingly infinite, area.
