I would think that Ebay or Yahoo Auctions would be the best place to purchase a vintage sock monkey.

But if you have an interest in creating one of your own this book http://www.sockcompany.com/monkeysockbook1.html is WONDERFUL. I had a sock monkey when I was a child and I made one for my niece. The sockcompany site also sells the necessary red heel socks.
