CEDAR POINT - Sandusky, Ohio baby!!

2007-03-06 09:54:55 · answer #1 · answered by ndtaya 6 · 0 0

Until recently, Six Flags Magic Mountain had 17 coasters to Cedar Point's 16. Cedar Point is opening Maverick, its 17th coaster, while Magic Mountain has just demolished its smaller wooden coaster, Psyclone. The non-operating Flashback at SFMM is also supposed to come down (leaving that park with 15), but there's talk of re-erecting it elsewhere in the park. It was closed during the summer because its noisy operation made it difficult for lifeguards to hear over it in the event of an emergency.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio has 17 coasters. Not only that, they have #2 and #3 tallest/steepest/fastest in the United States. (#2 and #4 in the world). The Kingda Ka in New Jersey is a copy of Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster and is only 18 feet taller.

Go to www.cedarpoint.com. You can view each of the coasters and there are virtual rides for some of the most popular. There is a new coaster this year called the Maverick--supposed to be one of the steepest ever.

I finally mustered enough courage to ride the Millennium Force last summer. You can see it from miles away and it's up in the clouds. It had haunted me for 3 years before I finally made myself strap in and ride it. Tip: Get a fast pass, which is basically a reservation to ride at a certain time and you can go ahead of the crowds. I didn't and stood in line for an hour and a half. Not good, cause you can easily talk yourself out of riding. I will probably never have the courage to ride the Top Thrill Dragster, but there are bleachers to sit and watch cause it is so unbelievable.

In 2006 Six Flags Magic Mountain reigned as the park with the most coasters. In 2007 Magic Mountain will be dismantling two of their existing roller coasters, Pysclone and Flashback lowering their count to 15. Also, in 2007 Cedar Point will be opening their 17th roller coaster, Maverick, giving them the title, once again, of the park with the most roller coasters.

Previosly it was Six Flags Magic Mountian but recently they decided to get rid of two coasters and this means that Cedar Point in Sandusky OH is now the leader again with the most coasters.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH is the place to go for coasters. I have not been to the park, but I go fishing there every summer and have spoken to many of the residents. The coasters are intense.

I believe Cedar Point in Ohio has the most (17 including Maverick, which is under construction), with Six Flags Magic Mountain in California in second (16 including Flashback, which isn't actually operating but it's still there).

I personally prefer Six Flags Magic Mountain. It is home of the biggest and baddest roller coasters. Knotts Berry Farm would be second in line with good roller coasters but not as many and not as thrilling.
