Grade 8 math question I dont get it....?

Two thirds of the 132 grade 8s and one half of the 114 grade 9s want to go skiing.

a) Write a mathematical expression to calculate the total number of students who wish to ski.

b) Calculate the total number of students who wish to ski

wtf how do i figure that out?

Multiply the fraction given by the # of students in each category.

a.)x = (2/3)(132) + (1/2)(114)

b.) x = (2/3)(132) + (1/2)(114)
x = 88 + 57
x = 145
