Well, you didn't say how recently it was that she had sex, only that it was within the past six months.

Because of the two weeks that are added to the pregnancy (since you never know exactly when you conceived), someone usually has to be at least "four weeks" along in order to have a positive pregnancy test. If she had sex two weeks ago and her period is due any day now, it probably wouldn't show up on a test yet. It might show up earlier for some women, but she would most likely still need to wait another week or so before taking a test.

People worry about the "signs" of pregnancy, but there are several things these symptoms can be attributed to. An impending start to a period can be very similar to pregnancy signs.

Have her take the home pregnancy test with morning pee as directed on the box. I tested when I was only about 2-3 weeks along and the line did show up. It was very very faint but it was there. Dont drink alot of water the night before as that might dilute her urine and give a false positive. If her intercourse was say 6 months ago chances are she's about 5 months along and the test would be positie no matter what time of the day she took it. Good luck.

Pregnancy is measured from the first moment you are able to be impregnated after your last period. So your two weeks is prolly closer to five. And if you haven't missed your period, it's highly likely it's too early.

Pregnancy tests work by detecting certain kinds of hormones you body will only produce when pregnant (with the exception of a few notable syndromes which are incredibly rare) Although your body starts producing this hormone almost immediately, there isn't enough for over the counter tests to see it until you are about 4 to 6 weeks pregnant. (Sometimes earlier...every woman and body is different of course.)

my wife got a BFP 10 days after conception with a digital reader...however, with a more reliable "pink line" test like first response, she had to wait until 7 days after her period before it picked up the hormone. Even a dr. blood test said "negative" a week before her period. So, even though it's tough, wait until after your expected period is over to begin looking for those two pink lines. good luck!

if she had sex 6 months ago and she is just now showing signs of pregnancy, there is something wrong. by this time she would be showing and feeling fetal movement!! tell your feind to go to the dr. asap!! this could be a medical problem and she may want to have it checked out!! good luck

Maybe she should test after it's been 4 weeks.
