i think its sweet, my friends parents are high school sweet hearts.

I dont think it is very common these days (as someone above said) and its sad to think about not being with the guy you love right now. Hopefully you do stay together, if not you'll have many chances for love afterwards

I met my fiance when I was in 6th grade and we went out for like 2 months. We broke up and stayed friends through all of high school. We finally really hooked up when we were 18 and we have now been together for 4 years and have two beautiful children together and are going to be married this year.

I think it's less common now than 20 or 30 years ago.

I had lots of friends growing up that had parents that were high school sweethearts.

But none of the kids I went to school with started dating in high school and got married, except for those that got knocked up and then most of them ended up divorced by the time they were 25.

My boyfriends parents were and have been happily married for 30 years and my co-worker just got engaged to his high school love. The key is to wait a while to get married. Marriages at 18 fail, marriages at 23+ succeed.

Good Luck!

I fell in love with my husband when I was 12. At 14 we started dating. We got married when I was 21. I am now 32 and we are still in love. My husband graduated college in another town and we still made it. If it is meant to happen, it will.

I know a few who've gotten married, but they've all divorced now, and we're not even 30. I don't know why this is, mabye they think they missed something by staying with one person for so long?

There are the very few lucky ones that get to spend the rest of their lives with their first loves. I wasn't one of them I had gone through painful break up after the other until I met my husband.

Ours did for years, but we were young, I joined the military. We started to grow in different ways. Our paths that were together began to slowly drift apart.
Eventually it was like we never really new each other. We matured differently and ended up divorced.
