I guess you're talking about in the morning when my dreaded alarm clock goes off. I actually don't turn on the lights until absolutely necessary. I can see well enough in the dark to make it to the bathroom where there's a nightlight. Its installed in my shower (it was there when we moved here!) that turns on with a switch, which I leave on all night. I take a shower in the dim light, eat breakfast with as little light as possible, and the sun comes up as I'm on my way to work.
Why do I do this? I'm trying to pretend that I'm not really up, that I'm still in my nice warm bed sleeping. It does actually work a little.
