sleep with someone else as long as it was only physical, no emotions involved, what would you do? I said this to my husband, sort of in jest, because he's always complaining about our lack of "doing it", even though that's probably both our faults. I told him he should just go get some since we're never in sync, that as long as it was only physical it was ok. Or he could just get a b. j. from someone. Only I think he might have taken me seriously. Would you have taken it seriously? I know if he does do it I can't hold it against him, I told him to do it.

I would more than meet his needs if he'd let me. He does shift work, we almost never see each other, but he blames me for us not doing it. He's told me to do the same things before, he told me to f*** whoever I wanted. I didn't, so I wouldn't expect he would either. He's at work right now, so I'm not too concerned at the moment....this weekend however...

I have been told the same thing by two different wives and so I am probably rated expert on this. In both cases I did not accept the offer, simply because in my mind it is not possible to do.
Sex releases lots of different hormones into the brain which control emotions like trust, contentment and desire and are a strong factor in bonding. Sex without emotion is impossible.
Maybe your husband does not understand that you gave him permission to damage both himself and your relationship so he may take you seriously.
You really need a frank open and honest discussion to decide whether ou want to really fix your relationship and its problems or end it. If you clear away all preconceptions of the outcome before you start and look at all the options you can probably find a solution that will work. Professional advice is possibly a good idea if you both want to save your marriage.

I know you told him to do it but really, how can he take it seriously? If he does then he was maybe thinking of doing something anyway. Ask him if he took you seriously. And yes you can hold it against him, nobody in their right mind would think you were serious; it's like saying "I'm going to kill so and so" It's just not true, it's a saying.
Good luck

The last thing you want to tell a man is to go get it from someone else.He only has to hear it once and he's off to the races. You would do best to tell him that you didn't mean that.Any physical relationship is pron to turn into more.Either for one person both or both.

Well you should go and tell him now that you were not serious. It was a silly thing to say really and is not a solution to the issues you clearly have with each other. It will make things worse

If my wife told me this I wouldn't, I just couldn't. I know for me if I were to do it then that would mean she could too, and I couldn't handle that....
