many reasons, the more nails the easier also the toughness of the skin. to find out how much it would hurt you take the number of nails lets say 50 and divide your weight by the number of nails. so lets say you weigh 200 lbs on each nail there will be 4 pounds of pressure pressing on that nail, which really isnt all that much. the record for a nail bed is 4 nails on a 137 pound woman.

Try this: Make touself a bed of nails, but make sure that you put the nails close together. The more nails, the less weight each nail must support. Therefore each nail does not have enough weight on it to cause a puncture.

ok this is just and ex.

say it take 3 pounds of pressure from a nail 2 pnetrate skin then if you have like 100 nails that all of you weight is evenly spread out so each nail exerts less than that 3 pounds so if you weigh 100 lbs then each nail is exerting 1 pound a piece i think so i hope that makes sense or i could just really stupid either way yea...

pressure points - when two hundred pounds is exerted on one nail - you get a puncture

BUT - when that pressure is spread out over 400 nails -
you have about 1/2 pound of pressure per nail - not enough to
make it go through the skin
