is there a magazine for senior citizens that has pictures in it from the 40`s and 50`s?

My mother had a stroke and can`t read. was wondering if there was a magizine with pictures and captions under them. Shee would like it with pictures from the 40`s and 50`s or before. Thank you

1. Connect with the nursing home or hospital social workers, occupational therapists or staff at your local public library. These professionsals may be familiar with magazines and other resources that might be helpful to you and your Mom.

2. Consider finding old photo magazines from the 40s and 50s at flea markets and antique stores. Look and Life magazines certainly come to mind. Your mom might also enjoy reviewing copies of Good Housekeeping, Family Circle or others. You might find the pictures that she especially likes, write captions and then laminate them for her to keep and enjoy.

3. Your local Area Agency on Aging is an important resource for family caregivers of older people. There is one not far from where you live. You can call toll-free 1-800-677-1116 to find how to contact the Area Agency on Aging serving where you live. When you call, ask for the person who helps "family caregivers."

There is a magazine called Reminisce. It is put out by the same people who created Taste of Home. You can usually find the Taste of Home magazine at Wal-Mart and that will lead you to their other publications.
