Check them out in a store so you can really see it and then go on-line to buy. Just make sure that you know that setting number or whatever it is called. Also, be sure you can return it for free within 30 days or so. That way you can have it appraised.

You can get some really good prices on-line. You just have to be careful about the ability to return, etc. QVC is a really good place to purchase on-line. They are on TV too so you might get to catch a demo of the product too. But nothing matches a close up look. That is why the return policy is so important.

Definitley in a store! Sometimes colors come out wrong online, the size, and the shape! With so much meaning to it, I would get it in the store, were you can make sure it looks like what you are paying for, not that I dont trust online, just something that important, Id go out to get it.

Buy the ring in a store, preferably a local jeweler with a sterling reputation. Don't have the ring engraved before it's properly sized for her finger.

STORE!!! You can never really trust anything you buy online. You wouldn't want something wrong with a ring for the person you want to spend forever with would you??

i recon a store, it's more safe. The mail isn't exacly safe to use. i got a package sent to me one time which i never got... so i'm assuming someone stole it, which is really quite annoying cause it was form a friend and it was supposed to be a present of some kind of jewelery or something. So yeah, definately get it from a store, plus also buying jewery online seems kinda cheap.. :)

i would definitely say in a store, more personal, you can physically see what your buying, when looking at an engagement ring, you'll know which is the right one when you see it. you dont really have that option when looking at a picture

you should definitely buy one in store because they can tell you a lot of things online about it. it may not even be a real diamond. you can ask questions about it and it's very convenient to do it in store. and it's fun to see the ring sparkle.

I would say in a store because if it does not fit they can re-size it to fit. There are some jewelry discount stores around so you won't have to pay the high price of a smaller store.

In a store. If you buy online you might be better off going to a bubble gum machine.
