The second one. Less wind resistance. Dome tents are the absolute best, but that wasn't one of your choices.

A tent shape and whether it acts like a sail (say with a rain fly) will have more to do with becoming airborne. If this is a concern, buy a mountain climbers tent.

Also, select the right type of stakes for the soil. I've used those screws (like what would hold the chain for a small dog) in softer soils for the four corners of my tent. I had a rainfly, but they held fast. There's stakes for beach sand as well.

Don't use those pathetic wire stakes that often come "free" with many tents. They're bent like a "seven", not much good. Actually Coleman plastic stakes would be better than those. A decent camping supply store should have quality stakes. You'll need a hammer or mallet to install them. I use a claw hammer and scrap of 2x4 to pry against when it's time to pull them out.

I suppose a tent with additional lines from the top might help hold it a little better than one without.

The tent with the rounded edges - just like rounded off buildings - they won't blow away, cause the wind will glide right over them.

Have fun camping! That is where I have the best memories of my life. Fishing, camping, sitting in a lawn chair doing absolutely nothing! 'It don't get any better than that!'
