Hopefully, my son would be homeschooled, but if he went to public school I would say I would let him ride his bike to school starting at age 8. If I had a daughter, I probably wouldn't let her ride a bike to school because there is really some creepy people out there.

4th grade....age 9-10...in our school district they are not allowed until 3rd grade age 8-9

It would depend on the distance to the school and whether he was riding alone or with friends. Maybe eight at the very youngest. Really, though, you have to be careful in this day and age. The world is not safe.

The way things are these days i wouldnt let a child ride a bike to school. They would be taken or they could ride the bus.

Son or daughter it doesn't make a difference. My son is 11 and his school is 6 short blacks away. I drive him. Trust no one.

This one is actually not chauvinistic. My Dad was like this, only my step-brother is only 2 1/2 months older than me so I just had to go everywhere with him! lol
