Black-footed ferrets are native to the Great Plains of North America.

According to: http://www.blackfootedferret.org/faq.htm

"Where are black-footed ferrets found?
In the wild, black-footed ferrets once ranged throughout the Great Plains wherever prairie dog colonies thrived from southern Canada to northern Mexico. Today, they have been reintroduced into parts of their former range in Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana and Arizona."

North America. I've captured them (and released) while studying prarie dogs in graduate school. They are a threatened/endangered species found in the midwest/great plains. Primarily SD, NE, WY etc. My favorite Mustelid!

If it's due tomorrow and you can't even pin them down to a continent yet, you better get busy.

Yes, it's N.A. and their population is in big trouble. As are you, apparently. Good luck.
