i think its the most pure movie form around. Sure there are a TON of sucky scary movies. but a bunch of movies try UNSUCCESSFULLY to envoke all these emotions from you, compassion, suspense, understanding, sadness. it never works for everybody. nobody looks at those movies the same. i dont care that the girl was betrayed by her best friend. it doesnt make me sad the father of 10 kids is dying of cancer. i figure out early in the movie who the rat is in the group.
But we are ALL scared or distrubed by something. and its these filmmakers jobs to dig down and discover what that is. and you as a viewer are enlightened to a whole new world of fears that u didnt know existed. i have to emphatically disagree. it is an art.

People have a tendencies to want to see things that are viewed as taboo, like people getting murdered, hurt, blood and gore etc., and possess a want to be scared. Pretty much in the horror industry, the more disturbing, the better. But what can I say, I love horror movies, I am just waiting for them to make one that is actually scary.

I really think they'd be the most entertaining type of movie to be in, excluding stuff like porn, haha. Instead of being in some sappy romantic-comedy, you get covered in fake blood and make-up that can make you look like anything that is or isn't in existance, along with all of the workers with computer graphics and such. I think the most work gets put into it. Maybe you haven't been watching the good horror movies? Most of the new ones are about stupid teenagers getting picked off one by one, but there's good stuff out there.

Some people find Drama movies work, others comedy or horror...
it depends on each person
They do say that if every person was the same, the world would be boring

They still sell because even though we get older and get sick of horror movies...the younger ones behind us love them because they haven't seen much of it yet.
Personally I'm sick of reality tv...there's nothing real about it...yet every channel has some kind of program like it because somewhere out there...older people than me or 'city folks' still think that's good tv.

Because thats what sells, people want to figure out what they would do in that situation, and its fun to be scared. I don't support scary movies, but i also don't hate them. the truth is, they don't add anything, except adrenaline
