If you're really feeling the emotion of the piece, than it shouldn't be difficult. To get yourself started, think of something from your own life that made you feel that kind of sadness. Also, it's probably not just sadness that the character is feeling, but there also might be fear, shock, disbelief, loneliness, maybe even relief. Really analyze the monologue and make emotional and motivational decisions and then search your own life experience for some connections. Best of luck to you! :)

Being old, I still believe in technical acting. Therefore, start out with an explosive laugh. as these spasmic laughs come out draw the sides of your mouth down and squeeze you eyes shut. You'll begin to have a sound of sobs. Let it loose.

It would be easier were you standing before me, but this is the best I can do via keyboarding.

pretend like it's real life. if this doesn't work, think of something worse. like a loved relative or pet or friend dying. if that's too sad, find something in the middle. If that doesn't work, just screw up majorly during drama practice repetedly... the director will get mad, and start to yell. Your guarenteed to end up crying....lol
