Because of a series of odd events a long time ago, my home street's name changes in the middle of the block and then changes back again a few houses before the end of the block! People are amazed when they see it.
As a result, my house has a street address with a different name than the signposts at both corners. People get lost looking for me all the time. I worry about the police or fire department not finding me.
My town refuses to make the whole street one name for political (wealthy land-owner) reasons.
I'm thinking: it's so bizarre, maybe US Post Office rules prohibit confusing addresses and they can order it be changed. So, I'm looking for help to find any applicable Post Office rules, and to point me to the right office in the Postal system to "address" my problem (sorry).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

you should start off with your city council or who ever runs your town
explain in writing and photos, what the exact problem is and any suggestions you might have to fix it...new signs,etc..
if that doesnt work -or takes too long- just add the street name to your house number(if u have the room)

u might also try calling your DPW and asking the best way to proceed

911 laws do cover your problem. The simplest way would be to contact the local media, start a fire and call 911, and contact your town or county DPW and clerks office. I like the fire thing best. Make sure you call the tv station first.
Seriously, your local media tv station should have a public advocate spot on the air that helps joe local solve his problem like getting a twenty four billion dollar power bill from the state of Texas. Contact them.

You need to contact 911 they give out new addresses, they should have a non emergency number. If they don't want to help you-write your congressman. The post office does not assign addresses any more.

post office has no authority over street signs , you would have to go to court
