Ok, i always wash my hands b4 i hold him, hes a campbells dwarf russian hamster i've had him for about a month, when i first got him he bit alot!, now hes very tamed. and now he lets me pick him up. sometimes he licks me for some reason, and very little times he bites me, which i just pick him up from my hands then just put him back on them and he stops. but he pretty much always licks me now. anyone know why? also hes only almost about to be 2 inches lol

i thought hamsters dont eat salt? which is why i've read in pretty much evrywere to take the salt of peanuts...

it sounds like he may be trying to get the salt off your skin. mabe you should by him a salt lick. Being so small it sounds like a dwarf hampster.

whoa he licks you? i'm going with the person who answered to get a salt wheel.
if that doesn't work take him to the vet. vetrinarian help can be found better with more accurate information at the actual VET.

i would guess its the salt in your sweat, mine did the same thing somtimes they smell somthing they like and say "bon apitite" : ) i dont think i spelt that right
