Because nipple stimulation causes oxytocin release, which can cause contractions, you probably shouldn't pump until you are closer to 37 weeks. You will not get milk, but may express colostrum, a premilk substance rich in antibodies for your newborn. You can pump within an hour of giving birth and every three hours until your milk comes in. I pumped right away and found that this prevented my breasts from being painfully engorged by the time my milk finally came in. (That usually happens 2-3 days of the birth). The best pumps are double electrics, because they are very convenient and because they help your body make more milk. I usally tell people "they trick your body into thinking you have twins...". You may find it helpful to consult with a lactation specialist now or soon after the birth. Check out le leche league's website to talk with other nursing moms of twins.

If you're still pregnant, you'll only end up with colostrum if you start pumping now. Also, it could start contractions and put you into labor. Wait until after your milk comes in after birth to pump. You may find it easier to nurse on one side and pump on the other either during the time your baby is eating or right after, since you'll have a nice strong let-down from your baby's suckling.

I have never heard of anyone pumping breast milk till after thier baby was born. You can start pumping or putting the baby to breast very shortly after the birth.

For one don't even try too pump before baby is born nothing will come out.....You won't get milk for 2 or 3 days after delivery baby will just drink the colostrum. If you try pumping before it could cause preterm labor.

i never did it until after the baby was born and after my milk came in. i don't know why you want to do it before the baby is born.
i did it so another person could feed my baby with breast milk if i was away (like in class at school)

you don't start to do this until after you have the baby. even then they say its best to wait 6 weeks after the birth to establish your milk supply. this how i did it with all 4 of my babies.
