It's probably amongst the World's most luxurious hotels and sits ahead of many 5 star properties.

But officially it's recognised as a 5 star hotel as this is the maximum official rating. 7 stars is a self rating, but i haven't seen this anywhere officially :

The way that I understand it is that five stars is the highest hotel rating but Burj Al Arab exceeded those requirements and awarded itself a notional seven star rating.
Fair enough, I guess.

It is the best hotel in the whole world!

It's truly amazing.

If you ever go there, you will understand why it has 7 stars.
