keep it . billions on billions of dollars are made by banks with the money they charge for the use of an atm
years ago on two different days i went into a gas station and walked past an atm and found 20 bucks just sitting in the tray i took it after asking the only other person there if they had used the atm that day. the next time i went in looked there was more i took that tooo.
only if it spit out tons of money would i turn it in as a camera is there and can record when a big screw up happens . but 20 bucks the bills could have stuck together or someone just left it there so finders keepers applies here.

Well it's either you counted wrong or you could just tell the bank the atm gave you an extra 20.00

First off, I want to say that I really admire and respect you for wanting to tell someone. If it was the ATM machine at a bank I would call them tomorrow and let them know. All ATM machines belong to some bank, so you should be able to find a number quite easily.

No, go back to the banks its the right thing. When something happens like that, its on your hands and they could find out. Its best for you to go back to the bank and talk to them and see what they have to say, if they say you can have it thats fine they will understand and know that you are a honest person. But if you go off and spend that, well that coul dbe illeagl and you could be known as a criminal, just to let you know. Always do what is right. Take this as advice.

I went to an ATM in London England back in the early 90's and it gave me an extra 500 pounds Sterling (almost $1000)!!!

Can you believe this?!?

Did I return it?

it's only $20...the bank has insurance to cover that. It was there mistake.

But really I would tell them. They probably don't even wanna mess with it. It was a computer error, so no teller is gonna get in trouble. Follow your heart, Grasshopper!!

Take it back, they will be able to track you down anyway. I worked for a bank for many years, they have their way of finding things you would never imagine.
