No it doesn't. All goldfish are cold water fish and will do best without a heater.

No, just make sure the water doesn't drop below 50F because they don't digest food below 50. And goldfish cannot be frozen and live. Fish have the same cells as other animals. When frozen, the cells burst and die. Its a painful death just as with any other animal. Goldfish actually thrive in tropical temperatures, but high temps are not necessary.

I don't know about that specific type of goldfish, but my roommate's goldfish has never needed a heater. He used to live in a fish bowl. As long as you keep the water clean, I think it'll be fine.

No, unless it is in a pond outside in cold weather. Ponds need heaters to keep them from completely freezing over, otherwise no air can get to the fish, but they will probably stay under the ice.
Goldfish thrive in water around 40-50. Water 50-65 leaves them susceptible to disease. Water 65-75 is fine again. Water over 75 also increases their susceptibility to disease.

no they dont need a heater.they just need coldwater and a filter to survive and food.but if the water gets cold and ur to lazy to change the water to a cold one then buy te heater to turn the water colder.other than that i had this two tiny goldfish that survived without a heater for 3 years and i just bought one 3 weeks ago.

Heaters aren't necessary for gold fish, they aren't tropical (thats why you see them in ponds even in the winter).

Probably not. I have them in my garden pool, and it freezes over. They are there each spring.
