The growing concentration of wealth creates still more poverty. As some few get ever richer, more people fall deeper into destitution, finding it increasingly difficult to emerge from it. The same pattern holds throughout much of the world. For years now, as the wealth of the few has been growing, the number of poor has been increasing at a faster rate than the earth's population. A rising tide sinks many boats.

I blame it mostly on the current generation who grew up watching television for the last 50 years...

They have become mindlessly brainwashed into believing whatever the media wants them to believe...

Afraid to think of possibilities outside the box...

There are several reasons for this. One is, that many Americans believe according to the polls that they will imminently be in the top one percent.

Another, is that the conservatives have used a number of strategies, from strong identity politics (which effectively steer thought away from particular issues) and linguistic manipulations, creating simple slogans that take 20 minutes to effectively dispute and deconstruct.

PS -- On a pesonal note, since you don't allow incoming mail here, could you email me with information and sources about Bush's attempt to redefine PTSD to try to kick the vets off the of care programs they need?

Why do the poor admire the rich? Are they not the very ones that oppress and keep them subservient. The rich have gained their wealth, off of the backs of the poor. Accountability will be required in the day of judgment. God is not blind nor deaf .
