I am 37 weeks pregnant and I have been contracting all day but not increasing in pain and no water break yet. I lost quite a bit of my plug earlier too and yesterday. I think this could be real or could be fake but need something to help turn it real. Any suggestions on how to progress this and help it along. I am not having sex cause its toooo painful right now. I wish something would help make my water break such as walking or jumping. Any ideas

When I was pregnant I had had lost my mucus plug the day before I delivered, but I thought maybe I was going to be going into labor b/c I had minor pain. I called the doctor, and they said, "No, you'll know... " so I believed them... the next night we were at a friends and the contractions were getting bad. We went to the hospital and they said I wasn't dilated enough yet, so they made me walk laps around the maternity ward of the hospital. After twenty minutes of walking I was in so much pain, I told the nurses I had to go lay down, and they came in to check me and I was already fully dilated.
So moral of the story... walk, alot! :)
Good Luck!

Wow, we are right about the same. I am 37 weeks today. Lost mucus plug on the 25th.

I went to doctor Thursday the 1st and he said I was already a 3 but "high up". Today I have had contractions & in I guess false labor because I was sent home after being monitored for several hours in labor & delivery. Before I left I was already dialted a 5! But no water breakage yet or "true contractions". I have had a lot of low pressure.

I asked a very similar question & everyone said sex. I am with you that is just not working. I did find a web site that gave me some information on natural induction. My doctor told me today if nothing else by this Thursday he will induce me since I will be right around the 38 week mark.

But check this site out and see if it can help you-

I did buy the Red Raspberry Leaf tea in pill form (I can't stomach gross stuff) and it gave me some more contractions after taking just 2 tablets, but nothing eventful yet. Those pills I got at a nutrition store for about $8.00.

I'll tell you what my nurse told me, SEX. I know you said that it is too painful but this is the only "real" way to get labor going. There are some old wives tales such as jumping up and down, walking, or eating spicy food. You could try. But the only way is something up "there" that can penetrate the uterine wall. Good luck with the baby!!

you are able to call you well being practitioner's place of work any time, you be responsive to. in spite of if it fairly is at night, they are going to generally be linked to an answering provider staffed by skill of nurses who can answer any questions you may desire to have or handle any concerns. inspite of each and all the failings that persons should help be responsive to, you fairly would be unable to progression exertions. Your physique (and the infant) will progression while it needs to. now and back women people bypass in for an induction and finally end up being sent domicile because of the fact their bodies basically are not there yet and, for that reason, the induction does not artwork. do no longer attempt castor oil. maximum in all hazard, which will basically placed you in a great sort of abdomen discomfort. in case you do attempt the intercourse approach, confirm you orgasm and your better half orgasms (ideally interior you). it could help, now and back. even nevertheless, it did no longer artwork for me, nor did walking, ingesting rather spiced meals, nipple stimulation, etc.

There are a number of things you can try to get labor started, but they all only work if you are about to go into labor anyway. Let nature take it's course and be patient. The baby will come in it's own time.

Eating spicy foods, walking, sex(the best way to advance labor), and hot shower. Those are the only ways I know that can advance labor. I hope these help. Good luck!

I've always had to have my water broken at the hospital and if you want something to start your labour that will usually do it.

I wouldn't suggest trying to break your water yourself. If you've lost your plug you should probably go to the hospital anyway.

I know you aren't in the mood but sex does work.

Heck, they have "fake" semen that the sometimes give women to induce labor.
