Hi. I know already what handmade nutcrackers are made of (metal/wood/etc) but can anyone tell me where in the world they get the materials from, as in which country?

The Germans are big on nutcrackers, so perhaps from their own forest? The label on the bottom doesn't give you much of an idea where the raw materials came from, though.

If made in China, I'm not sure. China today is getting a lot of iron ore from all around the world: Canada, Australia, the US, S. America, - any place where it can be had, since she is just sucking everything up.

Whatever hardwood is handy. Why would the materials come from a particular country? All that needs happen is that the wood that is doing the actual cracking is hard enough and strong enough not to be damaged by the cracking. In fact, the body of a nutcracker figure might be a softer easier to carve wood while the head, which does the cracking in the jaws is two or three pieces of harder wood. As for metal, I have seen brass, bronze, aluminum, steel, and cast iron nutcrackers, so metal can come from anywhere.
