I took a test late Thursday night last week and got a postive LH surge. I ran out of my test strips after that test and had not gone out for more unitl today to for maybe next cycle...so the poas junky I have become, I HAD to take a test a half hour ago...and positive again? Is it possible I just caught it on its way down? Or is it normal to have surge for this long?

It could be that your body tried to ovulate after the first test, but was delayed slightly.

OPKs are not really very reliable. They can test for the LH surge which is usually associated w/ ovulation, but they CANNOT confirm that ovulation has occured after, nor if the other aspects of your cycle are all "good." You could have more than one attempt to ovulate. If you assumed you ovulated after the positive OPK, you might actually be missing the real ovulation later.

I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.

Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

I had a LH surge last Thursday. This morning I took another test it is negative.

The length of LH surge is different for each individual, normally 1 to 3 days. You might have a long LH surge this time. Maybe you are ovulating two eggs this cycle. Keep an eye and see when it turns negative.

you could desire to easily see a surge as quickly as. A try that exhibits a faint line or a line lighter than the administration line isn't an excellent. Positives are in simple terms strains that journey the administration line in shade.

LH surge last 24 to 36 hours....so as soon as you see a surge you should have intercourse within that time, if you miss it you prob. will not get pregant that month

Your surge will last until your period starts again. It's always like that. Once you get it it stays up and then drops before your period if your not pregnant. Just like you BB temps. I don't know if you have done BBT charting but you get a surge in temp and it stays up until you get your period and then drops or stays up if your pregnant.
