You are probably traveling to the Philippines to have sex with Filipinas. That's why most causasian men come here. I think they should all be arrested for taking advantage of poor countries and charged with rape like we did to that Daniel Smith guy from SUBIC BAY. He is innocent we know. We just don't want his kind around here!

You will be treated very well, as Filipinos are very hospitable. Pangasinan is a fairly distant place from Manila. As such, the people there are basically related to the Taiwanese Aborigines and have very little or no European admixture (unlike Manila). Pangasinan is famous for its' Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos town, the unusual rugged Bolinao beaches and sunset in Bolinao town, the rapidly rising tides of Lingayen Gulf in Lingayen town. However, it is most famous for its' historical tourism industry, as many famous Philippine government officials hail from Pangasinan (including former President Fidel Ramos). It was not really included in the current president's plan fo tourism development, as such, don't expect too much first-world tourist amenities there, but the resorts on the aforementioned places are really great.

Honestly, Filipinos are very fond of Caucasians so you won't expect any problms there.

always look for something that is not very ordinary.when i was young i used to have summer vacation every year in pangasinan.my mother was born in that province.i went back to pangasinan 1988 with a white wife and a mestiza daughter.i was invited by an old friend to come to a local dance party in another village.but my auntie went against me travelling alone at night.because of the communist insurgents roaming around during nightime.because im new and im not a local.i might be mistaken for a soldier or a rebel.because of the poverty going around all over the country .robbers will try to get something from you.its better to travel with a filipino guide and keep your outing during the days.dont travel in the road during nightime.anyway the province have a beautiful sites to see.and majority of the ilocano are hospitables, but there are some bad elements also.so just be very careful.have a nice holidays.

You need your valid PASSPORT to enter the Philippines and in any country in the known world. Make sure it is still valid for the next six months. Most tourist are given automatically 21 days visa upon arrival.

Check this Philippine Foreign Office website for visa concerns

The average height of Philippine women is around 5 feet 2 inches. For men it is around 5 feet 4 inches. Our dear Philippine President is a woman who is only 4 feet and 11 inches. She might be short but she could give you a knock out punch with a raise of an eyebrow. Really, no one is kidding about it.

Planning to go there during the Holy Week? As for concerns, like any part of the world, tourists are advised to take care of their belongings. There are still communist insurgents in the province that operates in very remote areas, hence avoid adventuring to these remote areas. Stay within town centers, main roads or tourist spots. Just use your common sense. If something feels wrong, say no and leave.

By the way "Second Hand information kills". There is a tendency you can go deaf of hearing things that are not true.

Dress lightly and have water handy. It can be quite hot there and the wind from the sea makes it especially hot during the daytime.

What part of Pangasinan will you be visiting? It's one of the larger regions in the Philippines. There are a lot of sights Pangasinan has to offer, Lingayen and San Fabian are known for their beaches and so is the Hundred Islands in Alaminos. I don't think you will stand out much there. Dagupan City is the most commercial I think and the busiest along with Urdaneta. Most parts of Pangasinan, especially Bonuan, are famous for tasty seafood like the bangus (milk fish), crabs, shrimps and prawns. Calasiao is known for its delicious native delicacies. People go to Manaoag to visit the miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary known as Our Lady of Manaoag. With its many sights and sites, I doubt if 10 days will be enough =D Feel free to drop an email if you have other concerns. Have a nice time in Pangasinan. =)

You lucky guy,,, you may want to avoid travelling in May when the country is holding elections.. I travelled alone twice last year and the greatest time of my life(almost) but it was the best time in 10 yrs.. i wasnt robbed, or anything.. Filippinos are a great people,, you will be confronted by countless beggars though,, good luck handling them,, they dont always understand no... Always be Nice and Polite...

Another concern is your trip might not be long enough... You will need a passport,,, they will stamp you VISA at Airport,, i think first 21 days no problem more then 21 you need an extension.. Have fun

Not at all, you will be treated well, but stared at alot, as you will be very very different to them. They are far from the city that is used to Kanos, Manila. I have been there, Pangasinan, 4 times, my wife is from there, and had a great time each trip. Just budget your money well and have fun. It will help if you have a guide, friend from there to show you around and arrange travel, prices etc. You will also see lots of beautiful women, WOW!!

I've heard that a passport is not necessary for Americans staying less than three weeks in the Philippines. Also, I heard everybody is 5 foot tall so you'll stand out a bit.

None whatsoever, just keep a low profile and do not flash your cash. You'll be fine.
