He makes squeeking noises when he inhales, he hasn't come out from under his bed for 3 days, he doesn't open his eyes (i think he's blind), I had to put his water right next to him so that he could drink it by turning his head, he hasn't been eating, he hasn't been drinking, and he has to feel around for a minute before he locates the mouth hole of his water. WHAT DO I DO?????????????

Unfortuneately no one else has been able to answer your question, and yelling at you is not helping your situation right now.
Instead, I would like to offer you sympathetic understanding and a little ray of hope.

I can tell you from my own experience that your rat has a lung disease called Mycoplasmosis.

Why hasn't he been taken to a vet for Christ's sakes?! How can you just watch him die like that? The best thing you can do now, your "bad" past aside, is take him to the vet so even if he does die, he will be comfortable and you can make your last moments with him good by ending off his life being a GOOD, considerate pet owner.

You know what? My bird was injured one night and I FORCED my dad to drive me to the closest vet. He would NEVER take an animal to a vet if it were up to him, but these birds are MINE and I do take them to the vet. When we got there, we were rejected because they didn't see avians. We were off to an emergency vet since all other vet clinics were closed, a typical fifteen minutes away, but it was through a raging blizzard of snow (which was so bad, it resulted in a snow day the next day) so it took twice as long. When we got there, we were charged for the initial exam. A mere $80 Canadian. When I wasn't carrying my bank card or any money, my dad paid as long as I promised to pay him back. The plan was painkillers and an x-ray, almost $250. She died before either could be done, so we ended up paying for her exam and cremation. It's so much better to feel that you've TRIED for your animal rather than sat back and watched it die horribly. Do whatever it takes to get your parents to get that rat to a vet because it's DIRELY needed and offer to pay them back HOWEVER you can. Give up certain candies, shopping, internet, cable TV, or sell something, do whatever it takes. This is your pet and your responsibility.

I'm not meaning to yell at you. I'm not meaning to be cruel. I'm stating the truth because this is life.

Besides, you never even initially stated that your parents were not allowing you to take him to a vet. Had you mentioned that earlier, I would have given you advice on persuading your parents to take him because of its great importance in the beginning.

I'm sorry about your rat. I realize it must be very painful for you to not be able to do anything if your mom won't let you take him to the vet. All I can suggest is making your rat as comfortable as possible.

bring him to a vet that specializes in small animals and see what he says.it might be that the bedding u use for his cage is causing him respiratory problems and is irritating his eyes.

Mine did this. We took her to the Humane Society to have to put to sleep and because we were crying so hard, they did it for free.

Rats have a really small life span. I wouldent be surprised if you found him "belly up" in the morning. i think you should get a new rat/mouse.
