i've been trying to use tampons for the last few years and it never works. it won't fit in all the way and if it does it really hurts. but i'm on my period and going swimming tomorrow and freaking out because i need to figure out how to use a tampon by tomorrow. perhaps there could be something wrong with me in there? should i go to a doctor or is it not that serious?

I had this same problem for many years. What helped me was inserting it while on the toilet and just relaxing. It hurts if you tense up. Another method is putting one foot on something like the bath tub or a stool and slowly inserting. Also if you are just starting out on tampons use a plastic applicator. they slide in easier and are more comfortable. good luck!

Maybe you should try a different size or brand (whatever your using currently). Personally, i love to use playtex sport. they are really comfortable and you can even feel them!. DON'T go for tampax or any store brand. If you still have problems, yes, you should go to the doctor or maybe you're not putting them in right. When the tampon is inside, your fingers should be touching your body. If this is you've only tried this a few times, it will hurt you a little when you put it in because you've never had anything in there before. Trust me . The first time i tried a tampon, it kinda hurt. Hope this helps!!! =]

I would get a much smaller plastic applicator tampon. They come in all different sizes. Put vasiline or some kind of lubricant on the applicator, then just relax. It should insert until there is only a inch (if that) of it sticking out. then push the longer end to insert. It will work. I had the hardest time when I was younger. It took me alot of experimentation with it as well. Good luck!

I completely get the place you're coming from - I HATE pads, i think of they're gross and that they make me sense disgusting - tampons are lots extra sanitary. there's a very sturdy answer here, yet I additionally choose to declare, that I used tampons all although my teenage years - for some years till now I had intercourse for the 1st time, and my hymen replaced into nonetheless intact, and that i bled. this is quite not likely that making use of tampons might tear your hymen, as they're very tiny and that they hymen does not thoroughly cover your hoo-ha, yet somewhat has a hollow it in to permit for menstration, and the tampon is sufficiently small to extra healthful although this with out tearing the hymen...in case you somewhat have one, because of fact some women are born with out, or they could be torn for the time of activities, etc.

You have to insert the tube till your fingers touch your body. It WILL go in if you insert the tube properly. Otherwise, you cannot fit a penis inside your body either...and you had better see a doctor.
