People don't understand what you are trying to say. To some, it may seem like you are promoting a flag, other than the National one, in preference to it. While this may be true to some extent, you have no disclaimer saying you are not disrespecting the flag, just excecising your right to free speech. Some will take this as unpatriotic. Some will take it as hurtfull. You choose to do what you want to do, and it is your right. Do not expect everyone to feel all warm and fuzzy about it.

The names they are calling you should be a clue. My guess is that most people don't think that you are flying your rainbow flag in show of your support for international peace and harmony. Nice sentiment, though.
