Every woman's cycles are unique. Even if you have textbook cycles, there's no guarantee you ovulate on or around Day 14. You need to find out about YOUR cycle.

A woman's fertile phase usually begins a few days before ovulation w/ the appearace of cervical fluid. The fluid usually builds up from the sticky, less fertile CF to the slippery, stretchy eggwhite like CF just prior to ovulation. Different women experience fewer or more days of CF and different amts of each kind. One cause of infertility (which can be treated at home) can even be a lack of CF and the popular fertility drug can dry up CF, actually PREVENTING conception even though it triggers ovulation!

Once the egg is released, it lives only 12-24 hours. About 10% of the time a woma releases another egg w/in 24 hours of the first. That egg too would live 12-24 hours. The most fertile time of the cycle tends to be the couple of days immediately BEFORE ovulation.

I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.

Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

you could get pregnant. Everyone ovulates at different times. You can even get pregnant on your period. However its not to likely How long is your cycle? The average is 28 days and most women ovulate on day 14 march 3 would be day 19 and march 5 would be day 21 so chances are you already would have ovulated. If you are trying to get pregnant than you should start having sex every other day on day 7 of your cycle counting with the first day of your period. You can also try the home ovulation test that you can by at any store. I used clear blue and got pregnant with my son. also try this web site...it helps you keep track of ovulation and period mymonthlycycle.com

If your periode was the 13th thats means you would normally ovulate around the 27th ( 14 days after ) ovulation only happens once per month but your ovum can live up to 48 hrs.........so you might have missed it but thats assuming that you ovulated approximately 14 days after......every woman is different....if you ovulated later than normal you could get pregnant.........anything is possible with the human body !

days of ovulation are 24 to 36 hours , ovulation is usually on the 14th day from the first day of your period, but everyone is different, if you have abnormal periods then that may not be so, you may need to buy some ovulation pred. kits to see what days you ovulate for sure
