I've heard people say "dreams are meaningless" and that very well may be true but all art is useless too, art's not doing anything for you, but it provokes feelings in people so people like it, well dreams do the same thing.
Dreams give you the opportunity to enter your own fantasy world and do whatever you want, why would you NOT want to take advantage of that? People just don't seem to care and don't mind the fact that they are wasting 1/3 of their life.
Dreams do actually have a use too, they give you insights into yourself and help you solve problems and therapists use them to help people sometimes. Now, with all that added up, why don't people care about dreams, it seems asinine.

I heard that some people don't remember their dreams when they wake up. Those people probably don't care because they haven't experienced dreams as being a "realistic" fantasy. My husband has dreams but they are completely erased from his memory after he wakes up. It's been that way all his life and he can't believe how I can remember mine like they really happened. I can fly in my dreams and I can remember things like cracks on the roofs of buildings or how cold the air gets the higher I fly. I've seen funerals of people that are still alive and I wake up crying and in despair. I can change what happens and who I am. It sounds silly but sometimes I feel like I'm living another life in my dreams. I can see why I care and value my dreams (because sometimes it's sooooo fun). I can also see why people who can't remember them wouldn't care. I feel sorry for them.

By meaningless, I'm saying that you aren't getting a prophecy from jesus if you have a dream that the world is going to end.
You can learn alot about yourself from dreams but it takes work. You have to track your dreams in a journal, notice symbols, etc. It's also an inexact science. Who's to say what a dream that you are being buried with a wasp in your coffin means? Even if I totally know myself inside and outside, I'm just guessing. The subconscious mind is as vast as the underside of an iceberg.

most of the time dreams are nothing more then scrips your mind stores in your brain. you remember certain things that has happened to you during your waking hours. and while you sleep your mind plays a movie it wrote. some dreams have meanings. like when you dream of death ot means some one is pregnant or getting married. when you dream of a birth or marriage some one is going to die. when you dream of some one smiling at you, be careful there is an untrusted worthy person among you. it is not the whole dream that has a meaning. it could be a color or a flower in your dream that holds the meaning.

Dreams are not meaningless after. Sometimes, dreams can be some signs of the future. Interpreting them is quite hard and complicated. Dreams are worth so much when you do what you want to do , in your dreams. There is nothing happier than doing what you want to do.

Dreams are a window into your subconscience, many things there people can't or don't want to face. Dreams are interesting and intriguing and I agree with everything you have stated. Sometimes certain thoughts are scary so we cover things up. Thats all I can think of to excuse some people.

In my own case, it is quite rare that I remember anything that I dream. Some people only have bad dreams (nightmares), so probably just want to try to forget about them. I don't think that you can do whatever you want in your dreams--it doesn't seem that we have any control over them.

it has been made insignificant because of what freud did with all that irreputable, uncredible 'interpretation of dreams' stuff. but dreams should still be considered significant.
