More than likely you'll need a parent with you since you're still a minor. I know it can be difficult admitting to a parent you're sexually active. It would be much more difficult to tell them that you have an unplanned pregnancy. However, they will not need to be present in the room for your exam. Since you're sexually active, I encourage you to go soon. Ob-gyns carry the Gardasil(HPV) vaccine and I would think that primary care docs would too. Since the Gardasil vaccine is a series of three over the course of six months, they can probably give you your first injection @ that first visit. When you call to set up the appointment, let them know that you're interested in receiving the HPV vaccine and they will be able to tell you how their office handles it. Take care.

Depending on where you live look for a public health clinic. They are less expensive - the laws may differ from state to state so call ahead and ask them if you can be seen with out your parents knowing.

I will suggest however, that if you are wanting the vaccination for HPV (Gardasil) you really should talk to an adult close to you, if not your mom. Yes there are pros to getting the vaccine, however there are also potential side effects ect. Just make sure you educate yourself. Just know and understand the risks that come along with sex and sex with multiple partners. And just because you are only with one guy, that doesn't mean he is only with you. You can go to either your family Dr. or an OBGYN, but it will be expensive. Try the public health first - they are just as qualified and will be way less expensive. A Dr visit could cost you 100$ or more. Just to let you know.

I believe your mom has to go with you because you're a minor, but call the Gyn to find out.

You can get the HPV shot and test at the Gyn, but you have to set them up in advance of your appointment. They are not a part of the exam.
