AAAAAARGH!

Why on earth do you decide you "don't care for evolution personally" when you don't even know what the evidence is?

And when your teacher gives you an assignment to actually LOOK at the evidence ... you call it a "stupid class" and do everything you can to avoid looking at it. "Please" you are saying "just give me something I can copy paste into a homework assignment without looking at it, so I can continue to say I don't care for evolution. Please help me pass a biology class without understanding it. Please, God, don't let me actually *understand* evolution, or I might be tempted to believe it."

Look ... I mean this with all kindness ... this attitude will only guarantee that you will grow up an ignorant slave to anyone (preachers and politicians) who will tell you just what you want to hear. YOU HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED TO AVOID LEARNING AND AVOID *THINKING*. Whatever gets you by with the least amount of effort or thought. This attitude says that you are in a blissful state of ignorance and lack of education, and you are *determined* to stay that way.

This attitude will put you well on your way to becoming a good little obedient (and non-thinking) citizen.

----

If you know "almost everything there is to it" then why are you asking us do your homework for your "stupid" class?

I will bet you 10 points that you don't know "almost everything there is to it" ... in fact I'll bet you 20 points that you don't know a damn thing.

.... P.S. If you actually CARE about the answer (and you obviously don't), here's the answer I gave to this question:

Pretty much everything in the medical field today.

Why is AIDS so hard to treat? Because it replicates itself poorly in the body and basically mutates to form entirely new evolved populations, that willl not respond to prior treatments.

Why do you take a full course of penicillin, and why doesn't it work so well anymore to treat general infections? Because people don't always take the full course, and the selective pressures they impose on the bacteria allows the remaining bacteria to evolve into a resistant population.

Why can't people use chloroquine to treat malaria anymore, like they could four or five years ago? The disease evolved, once again because selective pressures left only the resistant strains, which built a new population that swept to dominance.

It is why there are new nasty versions of staph in hospitals, it is why insects evolve pesticide resistance and the agricultural sector spends billions a year trying to outpace the bug evolution with new products, and it is why you share more than 99% of your DNA with a bonobo.

It's also why bat wings have a bone structure more similar to humans than to a birds--evolutionary pathways.

Also, embryology.

Whether someone "believes" in evolution or not, their lives and the lives of their family members are vastly affected on a daily basis--by produce prices, by rising costs of medicine, by the difficulty of treating diseases, by the evolution of new viral and bacterial strains--by evolution. It is everywhere.

Evolution stems from genetic mutations that are selected for, because of enhanced survivability.
Ratio of brain to body size results in increased capacity to process information and increased intelligence.
Predators need to have eyes situated on the front of the head rather than on either side.
Kids need to do their homework based on what's good for them rather than what their current interests are.
The potential to learn is a perk that comes with having the big brain.

Just that allele frequencies change over time. This is irrefutable. I suppose that others will greatly expand on this.

I do not really care for kidney disease, personally, but the reality is that it is true for me. Evolution is true, whether you care for it or not. Go here.
