I feel that the Detroit Lions will have a better season then the year before. How can they not? (haha) Well, the trade involving Tatum Bell was pretty decent for the Lions, and with that draft choice they are bound to take Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell. They may not start Week 1, but i feel they will be starting by Week 8. I do not feel that this is a playoff year for them yet, but i believe with a lot of effort the Lions could go 7-9. My actual prediction is 6-10 though. The Lions could go 1-1 against the packers (possibly 2-0) and 1-1 against the Vikings (2-0) they could beat the Raiders, Buccaneers, Redskins, Cardinals, and could have an upset against the Eagles, Chiefs, or Broncos. Overall, the Lions upgrade from last season.

NO. What has Matt Millan finished consistantly over the previous couple of drafts? there's no way the lions would be 6-10. confident Johnson is a sturdy participant, yet who's throwing to him? Plus, the scedule. The AFC West is the terrific branch in soccer and additionally they are going to lose a minimum of three of those 4. Chicago and Minnesota will beat them two times, and so ought to green Bay. additionally they get the NFC East, the 2d terrific branch in soccer and that they'll back lose a minimum of three of four. This places them at 3-11with video games against Tampa and Arizona. The Cardinals would be extra advantageous this year, yet Detroit will beat the Bucs, putting them at 4-12, an progression, yet not sufficient of one.

Unless they move from #2 to #1, they aren't drafting Russell. With the catastrophe called the quarterback position in Oakland, I doubt if Wierd Al Davis drafts Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas #1. The Tatum Bell trade brought the Lions a solid offensive tackle in George Foster, so Joe Thomas isn't a strong need. They could go after Calvin Johnson, because we know Millen loves his WR's (R. Williams, M. Williams, C. Rogers) and he'd get hounded if he doesnt pick a good one after picking two crappy ones in Mike Williams and Charles Rogers, who spends more time in rehab than on the field. It would be best for them to trade down, perhaps to the Vikings at #7. They still get Quinn if they want him more than likely at 7. They can trade down lower and pick up an extra 2nd round pick and get a QB there. The Chargers traded their top draft pick to the Falcons and added a 2nd round pick in the infamous Vick for Tomlinson deal. That 2nd round pick - QB Drew Brees, who became a Pro Bowler for the Chargers until they threw him away (thank you Chargers. Signed The New Orleans Saints). Outside of Russell/Quinn, you have guys like Kevin Kolb, area product Drew Stanton, Troy Smith, John Beck etc. Lot of good signal callers in the draft. To finally answer your question, they'll be better than last season, but not much. I see 6-10 in their future.

I think the lions r going to be a lot better with the addition of tatum bell he will be a great releif back for kevin jones. They also have a high enough draft pick to get a star at any position. But the bears will still win the NFC north but the lions will just make i harder.

Sorry but the Lions will always just plain out suck. Only in Detroit would fans wear shirts that hate on their own GM. C'mon man, you've been through the last 8 drafts or so and has there EVER been any improvement?

You guys get a top 10 pick year in and year out.

GO PACK!!!!

They need to fire Matt Millen. He's not front office material. He's the Isiah Thomas of the NFL. The Lions will be the 'basement dwellers' of the NFC once again next yr.

Sorry but as a fan of a team in the NFC Central, er, um, North, I can tell you that as long as that moron Matt Millen is around, the Lions ain't going anywhere.

on offense i think so....on defense maybe not so much. They have a descently weak division though, minus the bears. I think if they have a smart draft and not draft another.....um...Wide Receiver.....they should get more than 6 wins this next season.
