You can try going to Start | Control Panel | System | Device Manager | Display Adapters and see if this tells you what you need to know.

That will all depend on the computer you are using, not on your operating system which in your PC is Windows 98. Aside from opening your PC to take a look at what brand and model of video card you have, you can also ask your PC manufacturer or go to the PC manufacturer's official website to find out. But if it is an old PC, perhaps it would be very hard for you to find out. By the way, most store-bought PC usually just have a video card, not a graphics card which is usually quite expensive compared to just a garden variety video card. A graphics card usually takes care of high-graphics CPU-intensive programs like games, CAD, picture and video editing. There are a number of FREE programs you can use to give you listing of your hardware and programs installed in your PC. One of them is AIDA32:

Just click to download it from one of the listed sites at MajorGeeks. BTW, don't just download from just any sites. Some of these freeware sites embed spyware, adware, trojans, and/or viruses.

The graphics card you have depends on the computer you are using (eg. dell, hp, sony, compaq, gateway etc), rather than the operating system (windows 98 SE, windows xp, macosx, UNIX etc)

It all depends on the computer, and the manufacturer. I would recommend going to www.crucial.com and click scan my system. They would tell you exactly what kind of graphics card your computer would take. You can order directly from them as well.
